Fijian partners have collaborated with the iTaukei Indigenous peoples in 2 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ghana

Ghanian partners have actively collaborated with the Dagaaba Indigenous people in 30 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kiribati

Kiribati partners have joined IPON in 2023. They aim to collaborate with the i-Kiribati people on various islands in the Gilbert Islands group.

Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgystan partners have joined IPON in 2023. They aim to collaborate with 24 Agropastoral mountainous herding communities.

Namibia

Namibian partners have actively collaborated with the Ovatue, Ovatjimba and the San Indigenous peoples in 3 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Peru

Peruvian partners collaborate with the Shawi and the Ashaninka peoples in the Peruvian Amazon, specifically in 2 indigenous communities.

South Africa

South African partners have actively collaborated with the Xhosa Indigenous people in 3 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan partners have actively collaborated with the Vedda Indigenous people in 9 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

United Kingdom

The Priestley Centre for Climate Futures of the University of Leeds and The University of Warwick are founder members of the network. Their interest in catalysing global research and social changes has driven its work to support Indigenous initiatives worldwide, especially in the Canadian Arctic, Uganda and the Peruvian Amazon. Currently, The University of Leeds provides the co-coordination of the network, and Professor James Ford is the Chair of IPON. Additionally, Professor Keith Hyams provides his expertise on ethical and justice approaches to engage with Indigenous communities.

Uganda

Ugandan partners have actively collaborated with the Batwa Indigenous people in 10 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Argentina

Argentinian partners have joined IPON in 2023. They aim to collaborate with the Mapuche people in 2 indigenous communities.

Australia

Bolivia

Bolivian partners have joined IPON in 2023. They aim to collaborate with the Yurakés people in 4 indigenous communities.

Canada

Canadian partners have joined IPON in 2023. They aim to collaborate with the Inuit people in 2 indigenous communities.

Germany

German partners have joined IPON in 2023. They aim to collaborate with the Indigenous communities in Western Ghats, India.

India

Indian partners have actively collaborated with the Paniya, Kattunayakan, Kurichiya, Pahari Korwas , Paharias and Baiga Indigenous peoples in 3 communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

United States of America

Virginia Polytechnic and State University has joined the network since 2020 and are in charge of collaborating with our Sri Lankan partners. In 2023, we welcome Pennsylvania State University as a new IPON member.
